Fashion & Style: Vanessa

Introduce yourself!
Hi guys, I am Vanessa, 23 year old Marketer and casual fashion blogger who cannot fathom spending more than £10 on an item of clothing.

How would you describe your sense of style?
This is the hardest question in the world because I do not fit into any particular category. I go from Boho to girly-girl to Goth in hours, depending on my mood and the weather.

Where do you get your inspiration for each look?
Summer! I live just for the summer. Being brought up in 40(C) degrees West Africa, I still haven’t adapted to the colder months although I have been in the UK for 10 years. Every outfit I wear is probably dedicated to summer vibes.

Are there any celebrities/fashion icons whose style you admire?
Honestly I don’t particularly follow celeb fashion because I find it unrealistic to my budget. I am all for street-style because ordinary people in great clothes makes me so happy!

What’s your ‘Go-To’ outfit for when you need to get ready in a hurry?
I am a monochrome girl at heart, if I am lost on what to wear for the day, the always-flattering black and white combo works perfectly!

What are the three favorite things in your closet?
1. I found a 1920’s wedding dress in a charity shop for £6, which I adore to death and only wear when I want to feel extra special.
2. Probably my black high-waisted jeans because it creates the ultimate rocker outfit once you throw on a vintage tee and leather jacket!

3. My boyfriend’s shirts, because oversized worn-out shirts just look good on any girl.

If you had the option of replacing all items in your closet with items from a particular designer. Who would that be?
I will never change my answer on this because Elie Saab will always have my heart!

What are some of your favorite shops or websites for clothes, shoes and accessories?
Jewelry will have to be regal rose because I love the gypsy indie vibes they have going on. When is come to clothes, everything I own is sourced from either charity shops or websites like shopcade.com and shopstyle.uk because I am always on a hunt for a good bargain.

What fashion or styling tips would you give to someone who wants to improve their sense of style?
Really study your body and your figure, once you know your body and know what suits you, you will always look great. I don’t particularly have a waist, so I tend to wear things like crop tops and high waisted clothes or waist-belts to give the illusion of an hourglass figure, you will hardly find me in a bodycon dress because its just doesn't look good on me.

Is there a blog/webpage or Youtube channel where we can find you?

Fashion & Style: Hollie

Introduce yourself!
My name is Hollie, I am a UK fashion blogger, I started my blog in July while also
studying a degree in Fashion Promotion.

How would you describe your sense of style?
It’s classic and chic with a mix of hugh-street and designer pieces.

Are there any celebrities/fashion icons whose style you admire?
I love the way Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, Olivia Palermo and Miranda Kerr dress.
They’re all so elegant and beautiful and really know how to dress for their figure.

What’s your ‘Go-To’ outfit for when you need to get ready in a hurry?
A great pair of skinny jeans, a heeled boot and a comfy jumper… so that I still look put together, but effortlessly stylish.

What are the three favorite things in your closet?
I tend to treasure my designer items more as they feel more personal as I’ve saved
up for them, so I’d say my Stuart Weitzman highland boots, my Louis Vuitton speedy
35 bag, and a black suede fringed dress from Zara.

If you had the option of replacing all items in your closet with items from a particular designer. Who would that be?
This one is difficult because my favourite designers tend to vary depending on what
they have brought out each season, for A/W14 I wouldn’t mind having a closet full of
Burberry, those capes are to die for and you can’t beat a classic Burberry trench and
Shearling jacket!

What are some of your favorite shops or websites for clothes, shoes and accessories?
My all-time favourite high-street store is Zara. You can find some really great pieces at affordable prices, but have the quality and look of designer pieces. I also think they have fab jewelry and a great range of footwear.

What fashion or styling tips would you give to someone who wants to improve their sense of style?

My personal advice would be to write a list of peoples style that you really admire, it
could be celebrities, bloggers, your friends, anyone, and write down what it is you
love about their style. My biggest advice would be not to copy someone’s style, as
thats not you, and I can guarantee that you still won’t be happy with the way you
dress if you do that. So take what you like about it and transform it into something
you would wear and a style that’s personal and unique to you. We don’t all get it right
first time and over time your style will gradually develop.

Is there a blog/webpage or Youtube channel where we can find you?

My personal style blog is www.holliehobin.co.uk and if you want to keep up to date
with what’s going on in my life my Instagram is @holliehx
