A Little Me Time with Yardley London Bath Bars

Hey Luvs,

I hope you all had a wonderful day. Today was a little busy for me...I practically ran around all day like my head was cut off. All I wanted, was to get home...strip and take a long shower and just relax. Nothing beats a hot shower and the aroma of your favorite body was or bar soap. I was dying to have a little me time.

Yardley bath bar has been a staple in my family for years! I have been using Yardley for as long as I could remember...as a kid, my aunt would visit us from London and she would load us up with all sorts of Yardley bath bars. Love everything about this brand. Quite honestly, Yardley can be compared to other high end brands.

I was thrilled when I got the opportunity to try three of Yardley's classic moisturizing bath bars, English Lavender, Oatmeal & Almond and their new Creamy Coconut bath bar.

Each of Yardley's London bath bars serves a purpose, for example:

Creamy Coconut Moisturizing Bath Bar – smooths and hydrates with Shea Butter, Aloe and Vitamin E.
English Lavender Moisturizing Bath Bar – calms and soothes with pure lavender extracts and essential oils.
Oatmeal & Almond Moisturizing Bath Bar – helps soothe dry skin and gently exfoliates with natural oatmeal.

Since my day was a little rough..I should have used the bar of the English Lavender to help me relax, but I really wanted to feel as if I was back home on the beautiful island of Jamaica... so I used the Creamy Coconut instead.

All three of Yardley's bath bars can be found nationwide at your favorite drugstores like Walmart, Walgreens, CVS, Rite Aid, Dollar Tree, Dollar General and Shoprite. The awesome part of all is, these bath bars only costs $1.29 - $1.49 each...even $0.97 at Walmart!

It's In The Gel- Neutrogena Hydrogel Face Masks

Hey Luv,

Today's post is brought to you by Neutrogena! Like most women, there are days when we're not in the mood to apply any sort of makeup. And when those days occurs, we tend will most likely gravitate to a a beauty product that will have our skin feeling smooth and looking radiant. For me, today definitely felt like a "no make up day" and since Neutrogena was nice enough to send me three free samples of their Hydro Boost face mask, I was able to go through out my day with no worries.

Neutrogena sent me 1 packet of their Hydrogel Radiance Boost mask, 1 packet of the Hydrogel Deep Clean Purifying mask and a sample of their Deep Clean Purifying Mineral Clay mask shot.

About each mask:
  • The Hydrogel Deep Clean Purifying mask is infused with seaweed extracts that soothes and refreshes the skin.
  • Hydrogel Radiance Boost mask is infused with vitamin B3 which replenishes your skin's moisture to help brighten and boost skin radiance.

Neutrogena Hydrogel mask is made of 100% of hydrogel material and contains 50% more skin-perfecting essence than ordinary paper or cloth masks. Each hydrogel mask was easy to apply, wear and remove. I loved how quick and simple each mask was...there was no fuss and I was able to continue other tasks while wearing each mask.

If I had to choose between all three masks....my personal favorite would have to be the Hydrogel Radiance Boost mask. My skin loved this mask! My skin absorbed all of the nutrients that was in that mask and in return gave me a magnificence glow. The best part of all is that you can find these masks at you local drugstore!

Oversize Yet Chic Night Outfit

Hey Luvs,

Today I am sharing the look I wore last weekend to the previewing of designer Faschinn new Spring/Summer collection.

I wanted my outfit to have a classic yet modern chic look. I knew that I would be doing a bit for photography for that event, so I knew that my outfit had to have the ability for me to be flex and bent to take photos.

Opted for an oversize mustard capri dress pants which was flowly comfortable. The blue and yellow striped jacket I wore was also a bit oversized as well, but I decided to add a super long braided belt that I wrapped into a style.

I paired the out fit with brown strappy Franco Sarto heels and a onyx cluster multi-chain statement necklace.

Let me know what you guys think. Also drop me a comment on some of your favorites night outfit ideas.

I Thought Spring Was Here

Hey Luvs,

Spring is here and like everyone else, I am am thrilled just knowing that day by day it's going to get warmer. So far...that is not the case. Its still cold, it's a bit gloomy and I still have to wear my bulky winter jacket.
With that being said, I had attended an a event about a week and a half ago and I wanted to wear something that was a bit "spring like". I was hoping that the weather would have warmed up so that I would have the chance to floral type wrap dress, but instead I opted to wear something that would keep me feeling warm throughout the day.

To be quite honest, I wasn't sure if there was a dress-code for the event, but  I knew I wanted to wear something that was chic and flirty.

I decided to wear a gorgeous sleeveless lace overlay burgundy mock-neck top with a gray blazer. I paired this beautiful top with blue jeans and a pair of blush velvet flat.

Outfit details:
Lace Burgundy Mock-neck Top- Xhilaration
Gray Blazer- H&M
Blue Jeans- Macy's
Gray Coat- Calvin Klein
Blush Velvet Shoes- H&M
Sunglasses- Sunglassing.com

Even though it was cold and a saw a few snow flurries... I couldn't resist the fact that there were a couple of food trucks that were serving delicious pina coladas!

Can the the 75 degree weather get here already......

Sorry I've Been Away....

Hey Luvs!

I know that I've been somewhat absent from the blog for the past few months. I am truly sorry, but I have been super busy and a lot has happened in the last four months. I know that I don't owe you an explanation because life happens, but  kind of feel that I do.

Hmmm...where should I start? I know...my 9 to 5. In the past four months, my department has gone through two company transfers. Because of this change, I was in Chicago for a week, new login and access to resources took forever. Our clients need extra "tlc"....for they were all confused and the best part of all is....my teammates and I are still unsure of the changes in our job responsibility....for they have not been rolled out as yet. To be quite honest, beside normal everyday life issues... I'm working later than normal....my 9 to 5 really has been taking up quite a chunk of my life.

However, I do have a few things down the pipeline that  I can't wait to post about. One of them being a FREE "Subscription" box that I will be giving away to one random subscriber per month. Rules and disclaimers to come, so stay tuned for the updates.

As far as my love for fashion. I was super excited to get the opportunity to attend Styleweek Northeast A/W  2018 this past February. I attended the Saturday night runway show which presented showcases from four designers. Each designer that night....had more than a few pieces that spoke to me! There were designs that had bold pop of colors and ones that had a glamorous tropical resort feel. Models strut down the runway wearing bold statement furs of different hues. There were pieces that showcased a street style that was edgy yet feminine. Honestly, I was so in aww by these designers....I felt as though I picked the best night out of the week. If you would like to see videos and photos from the show...head to my Instagram page @cultureofvenus.

Also in the next few weeks I will be attending a couple of cool fashion events. So stay tuned... I will be doing a recap post on those events.

When it come to beauty, I do have a couple new products that I have tried over the past few months. I will definitely be posting some review on what I think is great and not so great about those products.

Once again guys I am truly sorry that I have been m.i.a, but I'm promising you that I will try to regain a balance so that I am able to post more frequently. Drop me a comment below on what new have been happening to you.

Achieving Healthy Holiday Skin with Neutrogena

Hey Luvs!

I hope you all are having a wonderful week. I am so excited about today’s post! I partnered with Neutrogena to bring you a #HolidayHealthySkin makeup look, but before I list the products I used, I also wanted to share my thoughts on the #healthyskin products. I am not sure where you all are located, but if you are located in the Northeast…I’m pretty sure you can all agree that the weather has been wreaking havoc on your skin. With the harsh cold weather and depending on the ingredients that are in your makeup, it might be causing more harm than good for your skin.

Neutrogena is one of my absolute favorite go-to makeup brand. Not only are they the #1 Dermatologist Recommended skincare brand, they have been providing consumers with health and beauty improvements for over 50 years.
I was so thrilled when Neutrogena sent me a couple of products from their Healthy Skin line. I love the fact that Nuetrogena Healthy Skin provides a beautiful natural coverage that is non-greasy and lightweight formulated with antioxidants such as Vitamin E, Natural Soy and Feverfew. I definitely needed a makeup product that would help improve my skin as I wear it throughout the day.

The look I wanted to recreate was Kerry Washington’s Deep Plum red carpet look. I love Kerry Washington....she is one of my favorite celebs. Not only is she beautiful, but I love the way how she carries herself...so classy! To achieve Kerry's look. I listed the following Neutrogena products I used and their benefits:

Healthy Skin Primer Broad Spectrum SPF 15

Optical modifiers help minimize the look of imperfections plus the formula contains a Natural Soy skin-enhancing ingredient, shown to provide anti-oxidant benefits.

Healthy Skin Liquid Makeup Broad Spectrum SPF 20

The Broad Spectrum SPF 20 formula, with an exclusive antioxidant blend, works to visibly  improve luminosity, tone and texture for healthier looking skin.

Hydro Boost Hydrating Concealer

The non-greasy, lightweight formula glides onto skin providing silky-smooth, natural-looking coverage. The unique hydrating core is designed to instantly quench skin.

Nourishing Eye Liner

Long-lasting eye makeup finish that won't budge. Subtle light diffusers make the whites of eyes appear whiter, while olive oil and rainforest shea butter add nourishment. Plus the built-in sharpener gives precise smudge-proof eyeliner application and the contoured smudger softens and blends for a variety of eye makeup looks, including a smoky eye.

Nourishing Long Wear Eye Shadow

This powerful combo includes a built-in primer to help prevent creasing and smudging with long-lasting beautiful color to enhance the eyes. Tested to provide up to 12 hours of rich, nourishing color, the formula is infused with vitamins and skin-nourishing conditioners for the delicate eye area.

Instantly builds lash volume by up to 400%. This formula, with a touch of olive oil, penetrates and helps plump the core of each and every lash. And sweet almond protects the outside of your lashes.

Honestly, I had so much fun recreating Kerry's Deep Plum look...I decided to also do her Soft Smokey Eye look. I needed the Healthy Skin Blush in the color Vibrant and the Moisture Smooth Color Stick in the color Almond Nude to complete the look. So I ran to the nearest drugstore to purchase the items. I also thought it would be cool to create a Neutrogena inspired commercial to showcase the look.  I will definitely post this video over the weekend, so stay tuned.

So, what do you guys think? Did I nail Kerry’s look? Leave me a comment below :)
