Natural Ways to Help Get Rid Of Dark Underarms

Hi Guys,

Spring 2016 is here!  Like many of us, we are gearing up to try and achieve that beach body.... and for the sleeveless season we call Summer.  From ruffled tube tops, to maxi dresses and tank tops… the one thing we will all have in common is that our armpits will be exposed. And if your underarm area is a bit darker than the rest of your body…. then you are not alone.

You can easily get rid of dark underarms by using simple home remedies that are affordable, natural, safe, and effective.

Below I have listed some of the main causes of dark armpits.

  1. Dead skins build up
  2. Friction on the skin due to shaving
  3. The chemicals from our deodorant
  4. Medical Conditions

Here are a few natural remedies that can help to lighten the area:

Potato has mild acidic properties that act as great natural bleaching agent. Due to its mild acidic nature, it can be applied on sensitive skin.  All you would need to do is:
Gently rub a thin slice of potato on you underarms for about 5-10 minutes and then wash off with lukewarm water. You can also grate a potato and squeeze out its juice. Apply the juice over the underarms / armpits, using your fingers or a cotton pad. Let it sit there and dry for about 10-15 minutes, and then wash it off with lukewarm water.

Baking Soda

Mix baking soda with lukewarm water to form a thick paste.  Baking Soda is a great homemade exfoliating scrub that can aid in lightening your dark underarms by removing the dead skin cells.

This remedy has strong anti-bacterial properties. This remedy works to lighten the skin tone and help get rid of bacteria and germs that feed on dead skin cells. Apple Cider Vinegar would be my personal choice when choosing a type of vinegar. Simply apply it to a cotton pad and wipe about 3 times, but letting it dry between each wipes.

Honey is also known for its anti-bacterial properties.  Simply apply a small amount of honey and spread it onto the skin. Allow the honey dries out before rinsing it  off with warm water.  To add a bit of UMPH to this remedy…you can squeeze a slice of lemon to the honey and apply the mixture to you underarms and let it sit for 10 minutes, then rinse.

Applying either of these home remedies twice a day may give you a quicker result in lightening you skin under your arms. .

Please,  like with anything else…. Best practice is to consult your doctor before trying anything new.

VALENTIA Skin Detoxifying Clay Mask

Hey Guys,

So I’m back with another product review and this time I will be reviewing VALENTIA Skin Detoxifying Clay Mask. I always use a clay mask at least once a month…the only difference is that I’ve always made my own clay mask from scratch.

Now as you all know, I tend to stick to products that is more on the natural side. So I was a bit concerned as to what made up the ingredient list.

So about the product:

VALENTIA Skin Detoxifying Clay Mask has natural and organic ingredients with Kaolin Clay, Hibiscus and Cranberry Fibers which aid in rejuvenating the skin.

Kaolin Clay: Clay minerals draw impurities, improve skin tone, and tighten pores for smoother firmer skin.

Plant Stem Cells: Naturally decreases the level of pro-aging toxins and works to soother the skin, reduce redness, and improve evenness.

Spirulina: A botanical stimulant full of vitamins that hydrates the skins surface and contributes to tissue regeneration of the skin.

CoQ10: Lessens the appearance of wrinkles by reducing free radical damage and stimulating health collagen production.

Hibiscus & Cranberry Fibers: Both lend their anti-aging properties to firm and reinforce the skin, helping to reduce the creation of new wrinkles.

The directions were to apply the clay mask to the face, wait 15 to 20 minutes until the mask dried and then take a warm damp wash cloth to gentle remove the product off the face.

The product had a fruity smell that reminded me of fresh raspberries. The texture of the product was almost a gel like which allowed the mask to go on smoothly when I had applied it to my face. The first two minutes after applying the mask, I did notice a tingly sensation around the mouth area. At first I was worried that it might cause a bit of irritation or redness in that area, but as five minutes went by and the clay started to dry…the tingling went away. I waited the full 20 minutes before I removed the mask. I didn’t experience any dryness or redness and my skin definitely feel soft and smooth.

This is a great clay mask for oily skin.I would definitely recommend this product due to the organic properties that it contains.   I will absolutely be using this product as a “quick go to” when I don’t have enough time to mix all the ingredients for my homemade mask.

VALENTIA was nice enough to provide us with a coupon code.  Now from June 5, 2016 when you use the code: UR6IMVNO you'll get 20% off of any purchase of any Valentia product(s).
