Jumbo Stuffed Shells With Meat Recipe
Anyone who truly knows me, know that I love any type of
pasta dishes. Pasta recipes are one of the quickest go-to dinner options. You
can make it your own by adding any of your favorite ingredients.
One of my favorite pasta dish I like to make is baked stuffed
shells. I usually load these shells with
ground beef or ground turkey (whichever one I’m in the mood for). I don’t make my own pasta sauce, so from start
to finish is quite easy. Below is the recipe for these stuffed shells.
30 cooked jumbo pasta shells
For the stuffing:
- 2 tbs chopped fresh parsley
- 1 teaspoon dried basil
- 1/4 tps ground black pepper
- 1 large onion
- 2 minced garlic cloves
- 1 small package of ground beef or turkey
- 32 oz of Ricotta cheese
I first cook the ground meet first with all of the above
ingredients except for the Ricotta cheese. Once the meat has cool quite a bit…I
then add the Ricotta cheese.
Topping:
- 4 tablespoons grated fresh Parmesan cheese
- 1 package of shredded mozzarella cheese
- 2 bottles of any pre-made pasta sauce of your choice
- Preheat oven to 350°.
- Spread 2 cups of pasta sauce over bottom of two 11 x 7-inch baking dishes coated with cooking spray
- After preparing the stuffing, spoon 2 tablespoons stuffing into each shell. Set stuffed shells inside of dish coated with pasta sauce and cooking spray.
- Arrange the stuffed shells in the dish and top with the remaining sauce. Sprinkle 2 tablespoons of Parmesan over sauce for each dish. Bake at 350° for 35 or 40 minutes; then add a topping of mozzarella cheese and melt for 5 minutes.
- Total baking time: 40 to 45 minutes
I made a dish very similar to this one, but with shredded chicken. Turned out great! Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteSorry for the late reply, but I've been on a bit of an hiatus. That's awesome! I would never have thought to use chicken. I'm glad that it turned out great :)
