Make a Statement Wednesday: Fashion Finds

Hey Guys,

I would just like to share this crazy little story with you about the above necklace. While shopping in Ireland I came a cross this statement piece which  did not have a price attached to it. So I decided to seek out a rep that was working in the jewelry department. The rep did her best trying to seek out the information I was seeking, but ended up stating that more than likely it would be heavily discounted due to it being the last one. She escorted me to the register and explained the situation to the manger and I ended up paying 5 Euros for this necklace.
Now 5 Euros converted in to US Dollars is $6.75......what a steal!!!!
However, this is where the story gets interesting. While at the airport in Dublin...waiting for my flight to head back to London, I came across the UK mag... Now Magazine. While flipping through the magazine I notice the headline "Nicole Scherzinger wears £20 New Look necklace on The X Factor!" It was the same necklace, except I paid 5 Euros instead of 20 Pounds for it. If you covert the 20 Pounds in US Dollars it would be $32.16.  Which means...I saved $25.41 when it comes to this statement necklace....SCORE!

Fashion & Style: Ann

Introduce yourself!
I'm Ann Hoang, a British Born Vietnamese girl living in London. I'm a YouTuber, cosplayer, model and supporting artist for films.
How would you describe your sense of style?
My sense of style is a mix of everything so I call it NYANN style. (After one of my nicknames). I take small elements from what is trending and combine it with my personal taste.

Where do you get your inspiration for each look?
I think it's inspired by music. Sometimes I have a completely random song pop into my head and it inspires what I choose to wear. Lately, I've been having a lot of hip hop tunes playing in my head, so I opt for the baggy, tomboyish look.

What’s your ‘Go-To’ outfit for when you need to get ready in a hurry?
A cool, graphic t-shirt paired with my harems and to accessorize, add a trendy baseball cap and slip on a pair of Converse.

What are the three favorite things in your closet?
I absolutely adore my galaxy cat king sweater, my American cat wearing a top hat t-shirt and my leopard print harems with a pink lightning bolt on the bum area. All of these purchases were from eBay!

What are some of your favorite shops or websites for clothes, shoes and accessories?
As you can probably tell from the previous answer, eBay! That's my number one place to shop! About 70% of my style comes from endlessly browsing on eBay. I also like Forever 21, New Look and Miss Selfridge.

Is there a blog/webpage or Youtube channel where we can find you?
I have a lot of social media sites I'm active on!

Scrub a Dub Dub: Homemade Body Scrubs

As the Summer season is coming to an end, Fall is slowly but surely making an entrance.  When the seasons change, so does your skin.  A great way to keep you skin looking healthy and feeling smooth is to use a body scrub.  A body scrub helps remove the dead layer of cells on your skin's surface and reveals the younger layer of cells which were lying beneath. Also, a  body scrubs helps nourishes your skin with the natural oils that it’s made with.

Body scrubs are sold almost everywhere, so it’s not that hard to find them. Depending on the brand and its ingredients, it can be a bit pricey if its store bought.  However, there’s a solution... making it at home.  Homemade body scrubs are really easy to make.  The consistency of your body scrub should be not too oily and runny or be dry and crumbly. It should be a medium between the two.

Most body scrubs contains only three basic ingredients; an exfoliant, oil and a fragrance.

The exfoliant can either be salt, sugar, oatmeal, or ground coffee. For the oils you have the option to choose from many; Grape Seed, Sweet Almond, Macadamia Nut, Hazelnut Oil or Olive Oil. Because some of these oils may have their own distinct scent, using a fragrance may help mask and provide a more pleasing aroma.  Fragrances such as Vanilla, Lavender, Rose, Lemon and Peppermint are quite popular when making or buying body scrubs.

Below is a few of body scrub recipes that I hope you’ll enjoy!

Heavenly Vanilla

1 cup brown sugar
½ cup almond oil
1 tsp real vanilla extract

Lemonie Peppermint

1 cup salt
1/3 cup grape seed oil
½ tsp lemon extract
½ tsp peppermint extract

Roman Goddess

1 cup of white sugar
1/3 cup olive oil
1 tsp lavender
