As the Summer season is coming to an end, Fall is slowly but surely making an entrance.  When the seasons change, so does your skin.  A great way to keep you skin looking healthy and feeling smooth is to use a body scrub.  A body scrub helps remove the dead layer of cells on your skin's surface and reveals the younger layer of cells which were lying beneath. Also, a  body scrubs helps nourishes your skin with the natural oils that it’s made with.

Body scrubs are sold almost everywhere, so it’s not that hard to find them. Depending on the brand and its ingredients, it can be a bit pricey if its store bought.  However, there’s a solution... making it at home.  Homemade body scrubs are really easy to make.  The consistency of your body scrub should be not too oily and runny or be dry and crumbly. It should be a medium between the two.

Most body scrubs contains only three basic ingredients; an exfoliant, oil and a fragrance.

The exfoliant can either be salt, sugar, oatmeal, or ground coffee. For the oils you have the option to choose from many; Grape Seed, Sweet Almond, Macadamia Nut, Hazelnut Oil or Olive Oil. Because some of these oils may have their own distinct scent, using a fragrance may help mask and provide a more pleasing aroma.  Fragrances such as Vanilla, Lavender, Rose, Lemon and Peppermint are quite popular when making or buying body scrubs.

Below is a few of body scrub recipes that I hope you’ll enjoy!
