Circuit Training: Why Wait Until The New Year

As Thanksgiving is approaching and Christmas is just around the corner, our eating habits or should I say our bodies might take a huge hit with all the excessive calories one might consume during these time.  A lot of people gain most of their weight during the holidays than any other time in the year and loosing that added weight might be the most difficult.  So I say, instead of waiting until January to make fitness a new year’s resolution…start now so you’re able to somewhat combat those extra calories.
One type of workout routine that can give you the most benefit is circuit training. Circuit training can allow you to:   
  1. Achieve maximum results in a small amount of time   
  2. Burn more fat than most traditional workout regimens
  3. Is a combination of cardio and strength training in one workout
  4. Targets various muscle groups instead of just focusing on one muscle at a time
  5.  Helps by improving one’s endurance

Circuit training I feel is one of the best workout regimens for those who don’t have a lot of time to spend in the gym. It’s also great for those who may feel a bit self conscience about going to the gym because you can do these exercises right in the comfort of your home.  The number of exercises, variety of exercises, intensity level, and speed are very important when performing circuit training.
The types of exercises that might be in a circuit are:
  • Crunches 
  •  Burpees
  • Alternating lunges
  • Mountain climbing
  • Push-ups
  • Squats
  • Squat jumps
  • Jumping Jacks 
  • Dips
  • Planks
