Mix and Match Nightstands

If your bedroom is anything like mine, you probably mixed and matched different types of furniture to create your bedroom décor.
One of the things I love about mixing furniture is the way can bring out or change the look of a room.  Mixing furniture makes the room feel more personal and interesting, but also still having each piece looking unique and unified.

Here are a couple of different types of bedroom nightstands that could be the special piece you were searching for.

Fashion & Style: Mariel

Introduce yourself:
Hello there, I am Mariel W. -- a corporate brand manager by day and a style blogger by my free time. I’m known in the blogosphere as The Wicked Ying.

How would you describe your sense of style?
To be honest, I do not have a definition of my own style. It varies day to day. I can go from edgy to girly any day depending on my mood. Finding your style is a never-ending process. I wouldn’t want to constrain myself in a specific identity since my preferences can always change.

Where do you get your inspiration for each look?
If you read my blog regularly, you’d know that I draw inspiration everywhere. It’s so random!

What’s your ‘Go-To’ outfit for when you need to get ready in a hurry?
Comfy top or shirt, denim shorts, and an optional choice of cover up be it jacket, blazer, or cardigan. Then I’d pair it with a pair of ballet flats or sneakers and I’m good to go!

What are the three favorite things in your closet?
My white Vans sneakers, boxy black blazer, and velvet high-waist shorts!

What are some of your favorite shops or websites for clothes, shoes and accessories?
When at the mall, I like shopping at Forever21 or Topshop. When doing some online shopping, I buy most of the time from PINKaholic Fashion Shoppe then I have blog sponsors who keep sending me goodies too. I love them all!

What fashion or styling tips would you give to someone who wants to improve his/her sense of style?
Never be afraid of trying something new. Style is all about knowing what works for you. You don’t necessarily have to follow trends.
Also, don’t go out of the house if you’re not comfortable with what you’re wearing. You’ll end up in a bad mood the entire day.

Fashion & Style: Emily

6:11:00 AM Jem Lawren 0 Comments

Introduce yourself!
My name is Emily, I’m a 22 year old fashion blogger and bikini designer from Melbourne, Australia.

How would you describe your sense of style?
I always struggle with this question… My personal style is always evolving but at the moment I think I’d describe it as laid back, a hint of tomboy mixed with girly elements...

Where do you get your inspiration for each look?
Inspiration for an outfit can come from anywhere, whether it be the weather, an outfit I’ve seen on the street, fashion magazines, other bloggers or it could just start from one piece of clothing or accessory that I want to wear and I build off that.

What’s your ‘Go-To’ outfit for when you need to get ready in a hurry?
Distressed jeans, a white shirt and black blazer or oversized knit, black clutch and a pair of leopard print heels.

What are the three favorite things in your closet?
My favorites tend to change but at the moment I’m loving my Givenchy clutch, distressed jeans and Tony Bianco boots with an ankle strap.

What are some of your favorite shops or websites for clothes, shoes and accessories?
Favorite online shopping destinations would be ASOS, The Iconic, Sass & Bide, One Teaspoon, Bassike, Shopbop, Ssense… The list goes on, I have an addiction! Ha ha

What fashion or styling tips would you give to someone who wants to improve their sense of style?
Go with what makes you happy, feels good on you and suits your body type, that translates so much better then someone trying to jump onto every trend whether it looks good or not!

Is there a blog/webpage or Youtube channel where we can find you?

Seven Ways to Healthy Summer Skin

9:03:00 AM Jem Lawren 0 Comments

Short shorts, bikinis, bronze skin and fun in the sun. It’s definitely summertime.  All though this is the best time of year… in my opinion…it’s also one of the harshest season for your skin. It’s a wonderful feeling being in the sun and feeling the rays on your skin, but it also can be a bit dangerous as well.

As we all know, too much exposure to the sun harmful rays can cause skin cancer, wrinkles, age spots and skin discoloration. If the below steps are not in your daily or weekly routine, here are seven ways you can keep your skin healthy for the summer.

  • When heading to the beach or laying poolside, sunscreen is a must! Preferably SPF of 50 or higher.
  • Adding a healthy layer of face protecting sunscreen to your morning beauty
  • Body and face lotions that are enhanced or enriched with antioxidants
  • Lip care. Applying lip balm with sun protection
  • Exercise. Exercising is a great way to open up your pores and rid your body of toxins
  • Exfoliate.  Gentle exfoliation to clear away dead cells can help achieve a smooth and healthy glow.
  • Stay hydrated. Drinking amply amount of water and eating fruits and vegetables that contain plenty of water is a great way to keep you hydration levels up.

KEEP CALM and HAVE FUN IN THE SUN!!!!

Outfit Ideas: Something Olde, Something New, Something Borrowed, Something Blue

You know that you are entering the “wedding season” when the warmer weather has started.
In the next couple of weeks I will be attending the wedding of one of my good college friends and like with every event, I have no clue as to what to wear.
If you don’t know me…I’m usually the type to plan out an outfit a month in advance….lol. I know that might sound insane, but I want to make sure that every piece fits perfectly together.  This allows me to have enough time to make changes if needed. There have been times where I came across a different pair of shoes or another piece of accessory that gave my outfit an extra umph.

Here are a couple of outfit ideas that I have come up with to kind of get this ball rolling.

Flirtatious Yellow
