Fashion & Style: Diana
Introduce yourself!Hello my name is Diana Fontes, I study Communication and and earning a MA in Fashion and Luxury Marketing with the Complutense University of Madrid in Mexico. After following looks at department store coordinations and attending runways shows I began to fall in love with fashion. Then… I couldn’t stop, so I started a blog.
How would you describe your sense of style?
I think I’d define my look as classic and sometimes relaxed. My inspiration has always been from the likes of Jacky Kennedy and Audrey Hepburn.
Where do you get your inspiration for each look?I often check out magazines, bazar like Vogue Spain to see what the current trends. I also look at OOTD (outfit of the day) pages to get inspiration and then I start to build my own styles.
Are there any celebrities/fashion icons whose style you admire? When it comes to fashion bloggers I have several of them. The two that comes to mind is Gary Pepper and Zanita Whittington. For celebritie it would have to be Taylor Swift and The Royalty.
What’s your ‘Go-To’ outfit for when you need to get ready in a hurry? All black, flats and red lips.
What are the three favorite things in your closet?Flats, skirts and a white shirt.
If you had the option of replacing all items in your closet with items from a particular designer. Who would that be?Oh my god, I would like to have them all. Chanel, Valentino, Red Valentino, but I think my priority is to maintain a very independent style, that my styles clothing are not created with a particular brand. I’d rather play with the garment and perhaps achieve a look with items such as Chanel Espadrilles and a Zara boyfriends jeans.
What are some of your favorite shops or websites for clothes, shoes and accessories? For now it is Zara, Stradivarius, Forever 21, Asos and Guess.
What fashion or styling tips would you give to someone who wants to improve their sense of style?First thing is to find yourself! It is important to define and know your own tastes, your personality and know that you are not following someone else’s style…..that you're defining your own sense of style.
