Hey Luvs!

I hope you all enjoyed the 4th. I had a nice relaxing day at home…I did a couple of things around the house, but the most exciting thing of all was that I got to play with my new HSI Glider Professional 1” flat iron. The company was nice enough to send me a complimentary flat iron for me to try out and I wanted to share with you my thoughts and review on this flat iron.

As some of you may know, I occasionally wear hair extensions throughout the year as a method of “protective styling”. This particular grade of hair extensions was considered as a “blend”… which means it’s not 100% human hair, but mimics as if it is. It was about that time for me to remove the extensions and I wanted to see how well this flat iron will do on this frizzy hair.

But, before we get to the before and after…let me give you a bit of specs about this HSI Professional flat iron. The flat iron is priced for $80 on Amazon. It has ionic tourmaline-coated plates that use 8 Heat Balance micro-sensors (4 on each plate) to regulate the temperature and evenly distribute heat so that fewer passes are needed through your hair. The temperatures dial range between 140-450 degrees. The flat iron also comes with a free heat glove, heat pouch for storage and free 5ml Argan oil leave in conditioner Bottle.

I decided to do only one side of my hair so I could do a comparison. I sprayed two pumps of the heat protectant and then I did about two passes on each section of hair. The temperature kept at a steady level…I didn’t have to take breaks in between. Below are the before and after photos:

The HSI Glider Professional 1” flat iron did a good job of smoothing out the extensions. The scent of the heat proctectant was wonderful. Over all, I like this flat iron. The only thing that I didn’t like was the temperature dial. I’d prefer if the iron had a digital display verse me guessing what the temp might be. With that being said the company does carry another pricier flat iron that does give a digital temp range. This is not a Chi, but for the quality that you’re getting at an affordable price… I think is worth it.
